Leading financial analyst Axel Adler Jr. has made a bold prediction for Bitcoin, anticipating a rise to $168,000 by October 2025. Despite facing a pivotal moment at the $110,000 resistance mark, Adler’s optimism is fueled by a significant increase in the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to 31% from April’s 7%, suggesting a robust upward momentum for the premiere digital currency.
### Bitcoin’s Potential Leap to $168,000
Adler’s forecast came to light through a June 12 post on X (formerly Twitter), where he highlighted that, although the current CAGR is below the historical highs of 50-80%, strong market fundamentals and continued enthusiasm in the futures market could see Bitcoin soar to $168,000 by the beginning of Q4 2025. He later advised caution, pointing to a decrease in open interest and positive funding rates as indicators of a possible short-term pullback or stabilization below $108,000.
Michaël van de Poppe, another noted market analyst, supported Adler’s cautious stance, noting Bitcoin’s struggle to surpass the $110,000 threshold. Van de Poppe suggested a correction might be imminent but reassured that there is no cause for alarm as long as Bitcoin remains above $106,000.
Despite challenges, including a recent rejection near its May 22 peak of $111,814, Bitcoin has shown resilience. As of the latest update, it trades around $107,000, marking a slight 24-hour decrease but maintaining a modest monthly growth. These movements come amidst broader market advancements and optimistic economic signals, such as progress in U.S.-China trade talks and encouraging CPI data.
### Shifting Trends: From Selling to Borrowing
Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley has predicted a change in Bitcoin holder behavior beyond the $130,000 mark, suggesting a preference for borrowing against Bitcoin holdings rather than selling. The sentiment among retail investors is also reportedly improving, with a notable uptick in positive social media discussions about Bitcoin.
Despite this positivity, the Fear and Greed Index indicates a high level of market greed, which could signal a near-term peak. However, data from Glassnode and CryptoQuant reveals a complex market scenario where long-term holders are both realizing profits and increasing their positions, hinting at sustained institutional confidence in Bitcoin’s growth potential.
