After several days of sideways trading and mostly losing value, BTC’s price surged in the past 12 hours, nearly touching $60,000. The altcoins are also slightly in the green today, with notable gains from BNB, SOL, XRP, and DOGE.

## BTC Taps $59K

The past week wasn’t favorable for the primary cryptocurrency. It began with a rise to just over $65,100, but the bears took control, preventing further increases. Bitcoin quickly lost ground, dipping to $58,000 by Wednesday. After an unsuccessful attempt to break $61,000, the asset dropped even further, hitting a two-week low of under $57,200 yesterday. This decline was likely due to outflows from spot Bitcoin ETFs. However, the bulls finally stepped up, pushing the cryptocurrency to just under $60,000 earlier today. Despite this, it couldn’t maintain that level and has since dropped by about $1,000. Its market cap has slightly increased to $1.160 trillion, though its dominance over altcoins is down to 53.9%.

## WIF in the Zone

Most altcoins have seen gains in the past 24 hours following recent declines. ETH has jumped over $2,500 with a 1.5% daily increase, and BNB is the top performer among larger caps, soaring by 4.5% to trade near $535. SOL, XRP, and DOGE are also up by over 2%, while TRX is among the few larger-cap alts in the red. SUI has surged by 6% to $0.8, with even more impressive gains from OM, WIF, and FLOW, all charting double-digit increases, with OM and WIF soaring by 12%. The total crypto market cap has recovered about $50 billion daily, rising to $2.160 trillion.
