Avraham “Avi” Eisenberg, known for his involvement in the Mango Markets exploit, has been sentenced to over four years in federal prison. The sentencing took place in the Southern District of New York on Thursday, following his guilty plea for possessing nearly 1,300 images and videos of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) that he downloaded between 2017 and 2022.

### Eisenberg’s Lengthy Prison Sentence

Court documents reveal that Eisenberg admitted to possessing a disturbing collection of CSAM, uncovered during his arrest for criminal charges linked to the Mango Markets exploit in December 2022. The content included images and videos involving toddlers and depicted sadistic violence and masochism against children, as detailed by U.S. federal prosecutors.

### Consequences of Exploiting Mango Markets

Eisenberg’s sentencing follows his conviction for commodities fraud, commodities market manipulation, and wire fraud related to his scheme to defraud Mango Markets. In October 2022, he manipulated the MNGO token’s price, causing it to surge by over 1000% within an hour. This allowed him to use collateral from the fraudulent trades to steal over $110 million in digital assets, which led to the MNGO token’s value crashing by 50%. Despite his claims of engaging in a “legal trading strategy,” prosecutors highlighted his exploitation of the cryptocurrency platform, which had attracted many users looking to invest through lawful means.

Eisenberg is now facing up to two decades in prison and is set to be sentenced on July 29. He is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York, a facility known for also housing FTX fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried after the crypto exchange’s significant collapse.
